Biography

Lucia Gomez Pintora

Lucía Gómez was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1946. Raised in a deeply artistic environment, art has always been present in her life and education. From a very young age, she learned the first steps of drawing, color, and a love for nature alongside her father, Master Ricardo Gómez Campuzano.

Lucía supplemented her art studies at the Siena School in Madrid, and later returned to painting for five years, training with masters such as Freda Sargent, Nelly Rojas, Hernando González, and many others, in various artistic techniques at Atena Art Studio in Bogotá.

She inherited from her father an interest in landscape, which became her first form of artistic expression. However, based on her inner experiences—and after practicing landscape painting in situ for ten years—her work evolved towards abstraction. This transition was inspired by her growing interest in finding her own authentic artistic path, and  her search for spirituality as well as her readings and studies on the evolution of the self. In this way, she developed a profound interest in sacred geometries, symbolism, archetypes, rituals, ancient cultures, and, in general, the process of inner transformation.

Her work has been exhibited multiple times in both the United States and Europe, participating in various fairs and exhibitions, and receiving several awards and recognitions.

She currently works alternately between Florida, United States, and her studio in Tabio, Cundinamarca, Colombia, where she is surrounded by nature, landscape, and peace.
